Darla wanted nothing more than to spend Christmas Eve with her family. But nothing is ever that simple in the Oglesby household. From her love-struck neighbor after Grandpa, her eldest daughter’s attitude and borderline criminal activities, her youngest daughter ransacking the house for proof Santa does not exist, to the middle daughter’s frantic behavior about her boyfriend’s devotion, Darla had her hands full the moment she walked in the door after work. From there things only got worse. The town’s self-appointed Outreach patron drops her annual homeless urchin on Darla’s doorstep without notice, her husband’s self-serving boss drops by unannounced shouting threats and demands for work to be done on the spot, then after helping herself to Christmas dinner with the family while Darla’s husband slaves away, promptly fires him and leaves. All Darla wanted was a normal family evening, but that night nothing was going to be normal.
