4:00 - 6:00p.m.
Arrive at LPAC by 3:45p.m. Use rear entrance.
Roles are available for students 6-17 years of age. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. No advance preparation is necessary.
Although not all cast members will be needed at every rehearsal session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire production week (Monday, February 27 through Friday, March 2) and, if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. The first rehearsal begins Monday evening. Since Rehearsals can last as long as four and a half hours, so students are encouraged to bring a snack or sack dinner with them to the audition, and if selected, to every rehearsal.
The Secret Garden, an original MCT rendition, is a joyful retelling of a story of hope and celebration and all good things in life. Mistress Mary Quite Contrary embarks on a journey from India to her uncle’s home in England. Along the way she makes friends with the hilarious Canadian Geese and the colorful Giant Bugs that Rock! In time she learns to appreciate everything around her. With a good dose of caring, everyone begins to enjoy the return of health and happiness in a carefully tended garden.
The Missoula Children's Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers!
The Secret Garden is part of the Missoula Children's Theatre's unique international touring project, presented by the City of Lancaster in partnership with the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation. The LPAC Foundation, through generous community support of the LPAC Arts for Youth program, exposes thousands of students each year to educational and inspirational dance, musical and theatrical performances and workshops.
