“Just another band from East L.A.”
That has been Los Lobos’ tagline for over 50 years, and it remains charmingly understated for a band that has won multiple Grammy Awards across Mexican-American, Pop Instrumental, and Americana categories. Their cover of “La Bamba” topped both U.S. and U.K. charts in 1987. Their 2022 Grammy-winning Native Sons was a love letter to Los Angeles.
What endures is the sound: son jarocho, norteño, Tejano, folk, country, doo-wop, soul, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and punk, woven into something only this band could make.
